Hi there, My name is Hugo, I'm originally from Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. I have a five-year Law and Social Sciences BA Degree from the School of Law of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. I've also passed the Bar Examination in Brazil. Recently I've finished my postgraduate course in Human Rights at the School of Law of the University of Coimbra. As a native speaker, having done a teaching training course in Portuguese as a Foreign Language, and with a few years of teaching experience, I am able to teach spoken and written Portuguese to a high standard (including for legal purposes). On top of that, of course, I can also help you with matters regarding my specialisation subject: Human Rights. I'm a very energetic and enthusiastic person, so whatever your goals and objectives are with this wonderful language or legal subjects, rest assured you'll have a dedicated teacher to create a tailored learning plan to meet your needs.
Experience
From Oct. 2013 to Oct. 2014, I worked as a teaching assistant within the Portuguese and Literature Department of a high school / college in Rio de Janeiro. This teaching and assisting position required good management and organisational skills. Working with the students was a fulfilling experience that allowed me develop an emphatic approach to individual and group objectives. From Feb. 2017 to May. 2017, while living in Portugal and doing my postgraduate course, I signed up to teach languages (Portuguese and English) in a voluntary program named "Speak". This brilliant idea allowed students who had a tight budget to still be able to study languages, for free, in an serious and well organised and structured educational environment. Also, I am currently a Portuguese teacher on Italki, an online teaching/learning platform. Moreover, throughout my 5 year law degree in Rio, I had one-to-one classes with students who were seeking help with English or just wanted to have conversation classes to practice their language skills. I've decided not to put my legal experience here, since it would make this too long, however, feel free to ask for it if you'd like more details.

Hobbies
I'd say I am a versatile person, since I enjoy very different hobbies and activities which at first seem to have no relation. And they probably don't. I play the piano and love classical music, but could never say no to a Lady Gaga's song. I could eat pizza and kebabs everyday, however, I still love the feeling of exhaustion after my gymnastics training session. I could go on, but I've shown enough silliness for one small box.
